This is a fiber-optic-coupled device (with diode array detector) which capable of providing fast and simultaneous spectral collection from surfaces in UV-Vis region.


   The benefits of array technology include very fast scanning
   with ability to scan all wavelengths range of  200-800 nm        
  
(190-1100 nm) in less than 1second.

Applications:

Reflectance spectroscopy techniques have shown important applications in key clinical settings including gastrointestinal ischemia,dysplasia, and
neoplasia. Although in infancy of use, these techniques have shown tremendous potential in early studies for widespread application.
Reflectance spectrum can be measured in a wider dynamic range of absorbance and system has fiber-optic probes to improve the availability of noninvasive reflectance spectrophotometry. A flexible fiber-optic probe which is highly durable and biologically inert was developed as the standard probe. Attachments of the probe for sensing the contact between the probe and the measured tissue and the pressure of the probe head on the tissue were developed to avoid the disturbance in the haemodynamics of the tissue caused by the pressure of the probe contact.
